Printer Maintenance:
There is a little maintenance with linerless printers as it is a fine balance between the stickiness of a permanent label and being able to send it through the printer without it getting stuck. As such, there is a little cleaning and a little silicon needed from time to time to maintain the balance. We will supply a cleaning kit with the printer which includes a printhead cleaning pen, and silicon liquid and applicators will maintain the roller for at least a couple of years before another cleaning kit is required.
To maintain the printer, follow the steps in this guide approx every 2-3 rolls, and here is the video with step by step instructions.
Printer Installation:
As with most technology, the software that makes these printers work needs to be installed in your computer prior to use. It does require some computer knowledge eg: what a driver is, what a folder is or in some instances how to copy and paste a link. If you have limited computer knowledge it may be beneficial to have someone you know read over the install instructions below with you.
The printer is compatible with Windows, and requires Windows to run the maintenance app shown in the video above. The printer is compatible with Mac/Linux, however there is no app available to complete the maintenance step required above. If purchasing one of the variants with Wifi, Lan/Ethernet, or Bluetooth then mobile/tablet printing is also supported on most Android and Apple devices - just note; only a Windows computer can run the app required for regular service/maintenance.
Following purchase, get the printer manual here, and download drivers/install guide from TSC website here, and if you get stuck then for further help/support with install please call 09-8276567 (Techspan Group, NZ distributor of TSC).
Don't forget to add linerless labels for your new printer:
- Only linerless labels supplied from r3pack are certified by TSC to work in the TSC Linerless printer, We cannot guarantee linerless labels from other businesses will work. We use these printers and labels in our warehouse and love them.
If you are generating a PDF label and printing - then it will work easily. For those using integrated options from NZCouriers/ParcelWings or similar and if you want to connect so it prints automatically - please refer to your account managers/support at the respective companies for assistance.
Commonly Asked questions:
I'm really bad with technology, can I still use this printer?
We have sold plenty of these printers and 99.9% of people can use the instructions to set up the printer. Follow each step and do not skip any of them. We offer one free tech support call and there after $50 flat fee per session (this is not our charge but outsourced to an IT company).
What is the difference between this one and the TSC DA210 at $349?
This printer has an ethernet-LAN port for network connectivity, and the Linerless cut mechanism added.
I found a second hand printer online that is so cheap. It seems too good to be true?
Yes sometimes if it seems too good to be true it is. Please make sure that the printer is in working condition if you are not buying from us directly. The previous owner might have damaged it and we cannot guarantee the condition. If you buy a second hand printer and it is not working we will charge a $50 assessment fee to see where the fault lies or if you need installation assistance.
Restocking fee:
In some special circumstances, we may agree (at our discretion) to accept a return of a product that is not faulty. In these situations there will be a handling fee equal to at least 10% of the purchased price. Delivery, service and assembly fees are not refunded at all.
Why do we charge a restocking fee:
The amount of times we have had printers returned to us without packaging, scratched, used, and just not new means we cannot sell these as new. We don't want to pass on these to our next customers to pay for a new printer.
